Md. Faruk Abdullah  is currently a Senior Lecturer at the School of Banking and Finance, Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, University of Sultan Zainal Abidin. He obtained his Ph.D. in Shari’ah (Islamic Economics) from University of Malaya and prior to this, he completed Chartered Islamic Finance Professional (CIFP) from International Centre for Education in Islamic finance (INCEIF). His bachelor’s degree was in Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) where he was awarded the “Best Student Overall” in the faculty. Md. Faruk Abdullah has published several articles in international peer-reviewed journals and has presented papers at many international conferences. His areas of specialization are Islamic financial jurisprudence, Shari’ah issues in Islamic economics and finance, Islamic micro-finance, Islamic banking, Takaful and Islamic capital market.
